Concrete Imaging Technology Utilized To Locate Reinforcing Steel And Conduit Prior To Core Drilling – Washington
A large construction company had a project in West Seattle building a new apartment and retail complex. There was a need to install new floor outlets throughout the building, which meant concrete sawing and coring was needed. Prior to beginning the sawing and drilling processes, the contractor contacted Ground Penetrating Radar Systems of Washington (Portland) to scan the floors to locate the reinforcing steel and any conduit present.
A General Contractor had a project within a parking garage. The scope of the project was to perform core drillings in multiple locations for placement of conduits. The drillers did not want to hit any rebar/reinforcement in accordance with the project’s requirements. Tensioned cables were present within slab so it was imperative for drillers to avoid the mentioned reinforcement.
A valued customer was having flow issues within their waste pipes and was not sure exactly where the issue was occurring. The customer hired our CCTV camera inspection services department to use the robotic crawler camera system to determine where the issue was. The NASCCO certified project manager was able to access both ends of the pipe and determine at what linear footage there was an issue.
